Week 01: Lake Union

On 01/20/2024, in Seattle, Washington, a group of 20 developers gathered to create an open-source foundation for the next generation of computers. The deadline: 6 weeks from inception.

Week 02: Alkai

Project scope became clear as members broke out into smaller teams focused on key segments from hardware, software, design, and communications.

Week 03: University District

The goal for the day: to successfully run the 01 on hardware. Discussions prioritized building the smallest compatible device.

Week 04: Kirkland

Enhancements were made to the 01's speech input and client-server architecture.

Weeks 5-6: Queen Anne

Attention shifted to finalizing the hardware design of the 01 Light, including both internal components to the outer shell.

Week 7: Capitol Hill

Core team concentrated on finalizing all components for the 01 Light and OS launch.

Week 8: San Francisco

The 01 Developer Preview launched on March 23rd, 2024. In its first day, it was viewed by more than 1,000,000 people, including over 1,000 who pre-ordered the Light.
